AI Image Generation lets your assistants create, edit, and upscale images from a natural-language prompt, directly inside WordPress. Generated images land in your Media Library, tagged with the prompt and timestamp, ready for posts, page builders, or WooCommerce. The service runs on Google Imagen 4 and is credit-based.
Prerequisites
- An active Personal or Agency license
- API credits for generation, edits, and upscales (see credit usage)
Generate an Image
- In WordPress admin, open the Media Assistant (a Pro agent) — or any custom agent with image permissions enabled.
- Describe the image in plain language. Specific prompts win: “A photorealistic hero image of a modern SaaS dashboard on a MacBook, soft purple ambient lighting, 16:9 landscape.”
- The assistant generates the image and drops it into your Media Library, with the prompt and timestamp attached.
- Insert it into a post, set it as a featured image, or pass it to another tool in the same workflow.
Edit and Upscale
- Edit — modify a specific region of an existing image using a mask plus a prompt (swap a background, retouch a product shot).
- Upscale — enhance a low-resolution image to print-ready quality.

Privacy & Rights
- Prompts not retained — prompts are sent to Google Vertex AI for processing and are not stored after the request completes.
- No training on your submissions — processing is covered by Google’s Data Processing Addendum, which prohibits training on customer data.
- Commercial use — images you generate are yours to publish, modify, and license. Note that AI-generated images may have limited or no copyright protection in some jurisdictions; review our Terms of Service before commercial use.
- Safety filters — all requests pass through Imagen 4’s safety classifiers; harmful content is blocked before generation.
Troubleshooting
- “No license key configured” — activate your Personal or Agency license, then retry.
- Generation refused — the prompt likely tripped a safety classifier. Rephrase toward what you want to see rather than what to avoid.
- Out of credits — top up on the API Credits page; your Media Library images are unaffected.
- Weak results — name the subject, style, lighting, and aspect ratio explicitly. One concrete sentence beats three vague ones.
