Agent-Ready Score & WebMCP is a free capability in Agent Builder: a score that shows how ready your WordPress site is for AI browser agents — like Chrome’s built-in assistant — plus the safety-gated bridge that lets those agents actually use your site’s tools, with your approval required for anything that matters.

What is WebMCP?

WebMCP is an emerging browser standard (navigator.modelContext.registerTool()) that lets a website tell an AI agent running in the visitor’s own browser — not a remote service — exactly what it’s allowed to do on that page. Search your catalog, fill in a form, check availability: the site declares the tools, the browser agent calls them directly.

It’s early industry-wide. Chrome ships it experimentally today; most browsers don’t support it yet, and most AI agents don’t call it yet either. We built for it now because Agent Builder already had the two hardest parts solved — a library of real, working WordPress tools, and a safety system that knows which of them are safe to hand to an agent unsupervised.

Your Agent-Ready Score

Agent Builder scans your site and gives it a real, functional score — not just a checklist — across the things that actually matter for AI agents:

• Capability exposure — can an agent actually find and use your site’s tools?
• Safety & trust — is anything risky gated behind your approval, or wide open?
• Discoverability — do you have an llms.txt and the other files agents look for?
• Bot access — does your robots.txt explicitly welcome or block AI crawlers?
• Content — is your site marked up so an agent can understand what it’s looking at?

The score is free, and it stays free — it’s not a teaser for a paywall. Where you’re missing something Agent Builder can fix itself (like turning on a tool for browser agents), you get a one-click fix right from your dashboard. Where the fix belongs to a deeper feature — like generating your llms.txt or auto-correcting robots.txt, which our AI Radar assistant already does for Pro sites — you’ll see exactly what’s needed and how to get it.

Nothing acts without your say-so

This is the same rule that already governs every AI assistant in Agent Builder, extended to browser agents. A visitor’s AI agent can only call a tool you’ve explicitly turned on, and any action above the lowest risk tier stops for a confirmation right there in the page before it runs — nobody has to leave the site or dig through wp-admin to approve it. Two ways agents can reach your site

WebMCP (above) is for a visitor’s own browser agent acting on the page in front of them. Separately, Agent Builder also has a working server-side MCP connection — free, no license required. If you use an MCP-compatible client like Claude Desktop, it can connect to your site’s agents directly and call their tools, governed by the same risk tiers and approval system. Different transport, same safety rules either way.

Get discovered — Site Passport

Alongside the score, we’re building a companion site — Site Passport — where WordPress sites can get verified and listed as agent-ready. Will this cost extra?

The score and the same-origin WebMCP bridge are free, full stop — not a trial or a crippled preview. Cross-site/partner-agent exposure, score history, and a few other deeper capabilities are Pro features, the same way Agent Builder already splits free and Pro elsewhere.

How do I turn it on?

Update to the latest version of Agent Builder and you’ll find your Agent-Ready Score in the dashboard, with per-tool controls for which tools browser agents can use. Your existing Permissions and Safety preferences already govern how WebMCP tools behave — there’s nothing separate to configure.
