Platform Marketing Strategy — Master Plan
Pre-Launch Platform Strategy — Agent Builder (Agentic Plugin)
Last updated: March 2026
Product: Agent Builder — AI assistants that live inside your WordPress dashboard and actually do the work.
Website: https://agentic-plugin.com
Core positioning: “Stop managing WordPress. Let AI do it.”
Why This Matters
Agent Builder sits at the intersection of three massive communities: WordPress users (43% of the web), AI/tech enthusiasts, and indie makers/entrepreneurs. A successful pre-launch means building presence, credibility, and anticipation across all three before a single download happens.
This is not a “post and pray” strategy. Each platform has a distinct audience, culture, and set of rules. What works on Reddit will get you ignored on LinkedIn and banned on Hacker News. This guide gives you platform-specific playbooks.
The 10 Platforms (Priority Order)
| # | Platform | Primary Persona | Type | Time to Impact |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | YouTube | All three personas | Content engine (evergreen) | 2–4 months |
| 2 | Site owners + developers | Community (organic) | 1–3 months | |
| 3 | X (Twitter) | Developers + AI enthusiasts | Virality + real-time | 1–2 weeks |
| 4 | Product Hunt | Indie makers + early adopters | Single-day launch | 1 day (plan 4–6 weeks ahead) |
| 5 | Hacker News | Developers | Single-post explosive reach | 1 day (plan 2–3 weeks ahead) |
| 6 | WordPress Slack | Core WP community | Relationship building | 1–6 months |
| 7 | Indie Hackers | Builders + entrepreneurs | Build-in-public | 2–6 months |
| 8 | Agencies + B2B | Professional pipeline | 1–3 months | |
| 9 | Dev.to | Developers | Technical SEO + credibility | 2–4 months |
| 10 | Facebook Groups | Site owners + agencies | Community (targeted) | 1–2 months |
Three Buyer Personas
Every platform strategy maps back to these three:
Persona 1 — “The Overwhelmed Site Owner” (biggest volume)
Small business owners, bloggers, coaches, local services. Not technical. Terrified of breaking things. Paying for Yoast + Wordfence + a maintenance service that doesn’t do much. Message: “Stop doing WordPress. Let AI handle it.”
Persona 2 — “The WordPress Agency / Freelancer” (highest value)
Developers and agencies managing 5–50+ client sites. Need white-label, reliability, client reporting. Agency plan at $149/yr for 25 sites = $6/site/year. Message: “Run more sites without hiring more people.”
Persona 3 — “The AI-Forward Creator / Developer” (best evangelists)
WordPress developers, indie hackers, AI enthusiasts. Want to build and sell assistants on the marketplace. Message: “Build once. Sell forever on the marketplace.”
Recommended Sequencing
Week 1–2: Foundation
- Set up YouTube channel, X account, Reddit accounts
- Join WordPress Slack, 3–5 Facebook groups, Indie Hackers
- Create first 2 YouTube videos (founder story + product demo)
- Begin daily X posting (3–5/day)
- Start genuine engagement on Reddit (no promotion yet)
Week 3–4: Content Acceleration
- YouTube: “Replace Yoast/Wordfence with AI” series begins
- Reddit: First helpful posts with natural product mentions
- Indie Hackers: First build-in-public journal entry
- Dev.to: First technical deep-dive article
- LinkedIn: Founder begins posting 3–4x/week
Week 5–8: Pre-Launch Build
- Submit to BetaList for waitlist signups
- Prepare Product Hunt assets and line up a hunter
- Draft Hacker News “Show HN” post
- YouTube hitting 2 videos/week cadence
- Facebook groups: Established helpful presence
Week 9–10: Launch Week
- Product Hunt launch (Tuesday–Thursday, coordinate community)
- Hacker News “Show HN” post (same week or following week)
- Cross-promote across all channels
- Reddit launch posts in r/SideProject, r/SaaS, r/WordPressPlugins
Ongoing: Compound
- YouTube and X never stop — these compound over time
- Reddit and Facebook groups: continue being helpful, answer questions
- Indie Hackers: weekly revenue/growth updates
- Dev.to: monthly technical articles
- LinkedIn: ongoing agency-focused content
Brand Voice Reminders
- Say: “Your assistant writes the post,” “it fixed the SEO gap,” “it caught the security issue”
- Don’t say: “leverage,” “unlock,” “harness,” “cutting-edge,” “game-changing”
- Tone: Confident, practical, slightly irreverent about the old way of doing things
- Show, don’t tell: Screen recordings of the AI actually doing work are 10x more compelling than feature lists
