What is Agent Builder?
Agent Builder is an AI assistant ecosystem for WordPress. It allows you to install and run AI-powered assistants that can automate tasks, generate content, analyze data, and more—all within your WordPress site.
How is this different from ChatGPT plugins?
Agentic assistants run directly on your WordPress site with full access to your content, settings, and database. They can perform actions (not just answer questions) and work autonomously on tasks you assign.
Do I need coding skills?
No! You can install and use pre-built assistants from the marketplace without any coding. If you want to build custom assistants, basic PHP knowledge helps.
Licensing
Is the plugin free?
The core plugin is completely free. You can install it, connect an AI provider, and use the built-in assistants at no cost. A paid license unlocks the Marketplace, where you can download community-built assistants and sell your own.
What's included in the license?
Your license includes: access to premium marketplace assistants, automatic updates, priority support, and all new features released during your subscription period.
Can I transfer my license?
Yes, you can deactivate your license from one site and activate it on another through your My Account page.
What happens when my license expires?
Your installed assistants continue to work, but you won't receive updates or be able to install new premium assistants until you renew.
Technical
What are the requirements?
WordPress 6.4+, PHP 8.1+, MySQL 8.0+. You'll also need an API key from an AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or a local Ollama instance).
Does it work with page builders?
Yes! Agentic works with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, and the Gutenberg block editor.
Is my data sent to external servers?
Only when assistants use AI features—the prompts are sent to your configured AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). No data is sent to our servers.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes, you must provide your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or run a local model with Ollama. We don't provide API access.
Will it slow down my site?
No. Assistants only run when triggered (via admin actions, cron, or API calls). They don't affect frontend performance.
Assistants & Marketplace
How do I install an assistant?
Go to Agentic Plugin → Add Assistant in your WordPress admin, browse or search for assistants, and click Install. Premium assistants require an active license.
Can I build my own assistants?
Absolutely! Create a folder in wp-content/agents/ with your assistant class extending \Agentic\Agent_Base. See our documentation.
Can I sell my assistants?
Yes! Approved developers can submit assistants to the marketplace. You set the price and keep 70% of sales. Learn more.
Premium Assistants
How do I buy a premium assistant?
Browse the Marketplace, open any premium assistant, and click Buy Now. Payment is handled in-page — no redirect to a third-party checkout. After payment, you'll see a Download button and your license key. You'll also receive a copy by email.
Do I need a plugin license to buy a premium assistant?
No. Each premium assistant carries its own license. You can purchase and install a premium assistant whether you're on the free, Personal, or Agency plugin plan.
How do I install a premium assistant after purchase?
Download the zip file from the post-purchase screen (or from My Account). In your WordPress admin go to Agentic Plugin → Assistants → Upload Assistant and upload the zip. Activation happens automatically — no license key to paste. See the full installation guide.
The installer says my license has already been used — what do I do?
Each zip file can only be activated on one site. If you're moving to a new domain, go to My Account, click Reset Activation next to the assistant, re-download, and upload again. If you didn't install it elsewhere, contact support. See the full activation errors guide.
Can I use a premium assistant on more than one site?
One license covers one site. To use the same assistant on a second site, purchase a second license. There's no multi-site bundle at this time, but it's on our roadmap.
What happens to a premium assistant when its license expires?
You get a 30-day advance warning notice in your WordPress admin, then a 7-day grace period after expiry. After the grace period the assistant stops responding to queries — your WordPress site and any data the assistant created are completely unaffected. Renew in My Account and re-upload the zip to restore it.
